Prof. Dr. Sven Schröder completed his training as a specialist in neurology in Berlin and Hamburg, primarily at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). He received his TCM training in acupuncture, medicinal herbal therapy and tuina in Germany and China. From 2000 on, he was in charge of one of the largest TCM practices in Hamburg. Schröder chairs the Quality Circle for Acupuncture and TCM of the Hamburg Medical Chamber. He has authorization for postgraduatemedical education in acupuncture and neurology from the Hamburg Medical Chamber. In 2010 he became founding medical director of the new HanseMerkur Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg Eppendorf. Since 2008 he is the chairman of the German committee and delegation in the ISO process for the standardization of Chinese medicine (ISO-TC-249-TCM) and the convener of the working group safety and quality of Chinese herbs. His habilitation thesis with the title “Research of TCM therapy on the nervous system” was accepted by the Hamburg University in 2017 where he was appointed as adjectant Professor (Privatdozent). Since 2018 he organizes the Hamburg TCM Master studies, a joint program of the academy of the University Medical Center Hamburg, the Hanse Merkur Center for TCM and the TCM University Shanghai. He was appointed as Professor of Shanghai TCM University International College in 2019. In addition, since 2017, Sven Schröder is shareholder and CEO of ConPhyMed GmbH, where his main responsibilities are quality control and safety of Chinese herbal medicine and product development.

Wei Hertz (birth name ZHANG Wei) studied diploma music pedagogic in Hamburg. She completed the TCM expert program of the HanseMerkur Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (HMZ) with a major in Chinese herbal medicine. Since 2009 she has focused on Sino- German cultural exchange programs and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2011 she started her working in the HMZ and was promoted to general executive manager for clinic and education in 2016. She developed and coordinates the TCM master program Hamburg-Shanghai and other TCM education programs, manages
the clinic of the HMZ and coordinates contract research with Chinese universities and partner companies. In addition, she is a lecturer of terminology. Since 2017, Mrs Hertz has held the position of shareholder and CEO of ConPhyMed GmbH. Her primary responsibilities are international project monitoring and communication management.

Dr. Friedemann studied biology and biophysics at the Johan Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main, the Fudan University in Shanghai and at the Shanghai Research Center of Acupuncture and Meridian. After completing his studies he joined the HanseMerkur Center for TCM at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). In his doctorate he focused his research on neuroprotective and neuroregenerative effects of Chinese medicinal herbs. In 2015 he received his doctorate from the University of Hamburg and became head of basic research at the HanseMerkur Centre for TCM at the UKE. His TCM research was awarded the Sebastian-Kneipp-Award in 2016. In 2017, Dr. Friedemann was elected German delegate to the DIN Commission ISO-TC-249. As shareholder of ConPhyMed GmbH is responsible for the area “Scientific and Regulatory Affairs”. In March 2018, Dr. Friedemann was appointed as CEO of ConPhyMed Pharmaceutical GmbH. Furthermore, in 2018 Dr. Friedemann was appointed as a lecturer, for the Joint Master Program in Traditional Chinese Medicine of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf and Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. For this work, the International Education College of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine appointed Dr. Friedemann as a professor in May 2018. Sebastian Hertz

Sebastian Hertz’s journey is one marked by a rich tapestry of experiences and accomplishments. In 1995, he embarked on his exploratory voyage with his first visit to China, igniting a lifelong fascination with international business.
He commenced his professional career in finance as a bank clerk at Hypovereinsbank, setting the stage for his future endeavors. His academic pursuits led him to study Economics at the University of Kiel and later to further studies in Business and Culture in Hamburg. The thirst for knowledge did not stop there, as Sebastian delved into the intricacies of Health Economics during his time in Hamburg.
Armed with this extensive knowledge, Sebastian transitioned seamlessly into the realm of corporate consulting, specializing in finance and economics. For several years, he provided invaluable insights and guidance to businesses, navigating complex financial terrains.
In June 2018, Sebastian Hertz assumed the role of CEO at ConPhyMed GmbH, where he continues to excel. His current responsibilities include overseeing the company’s financial operations and spearheading innovative marketing strategies.
